Tropical cyclone spotted outside PAR


PAGASA is monitoring an active tropical cyclone just outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility as the easterlies continue to affect the eastern part of the country.

According to the daily weather forecast on Thursday afternoon, Tropical Storm Shanshan was located at 2,085 kilometers east of Central Luzon at around 3 p.m.

The cyclone was slowly moving west, and had maximum sustained winds of 85 kph and gustiness of up to 100 kph.

Meanwhile, the whole country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.

Possible flash floods or landslides may be expected in some areas due to said weather conditions.

The Philippines may also see light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.
