Easterlies to bring cloudy skies, isolated rain over eastern Visayas, Mindanao

The easterlies will bring cloudy skies with isolated rain showers over the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao on Thursday, PAGASA reported.

The weather bureau is also monitoring a tropical cyclone outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Tropical storm Shanshan is located 2,140 kilometers east of Central Luzon packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour near the center, gustiness of up to 80 kph, and moving west southwestward at the speed of 10 kph.

Eastern Visayas, Caraga, and Davao Region will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon is light to moderate moving in the north to northeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the east to northeast direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
