Thunderstorm advisory up over NCR, 5 Luzon provinces

Metro Manila and five provinces in Luzon are expected to experience moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds Sunday afternoon, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

These provinces are Bataan, Quezon, Cavite, Batangas and Laguna.  

These conditions may be expected within two hours after the advisory was issued at 1:08 p.m.

Meanwhile, heavy to intense rains with lightning and strong winds may persist in the following areas within two hours:

• Tarlac
• Pampanga (Mabalacat, Magalang, Arayat)
• Nueva Ecija (San Antonio, Cabiao, Jaen)
• Zambales (Iba, Botolan)
• Bulacan (San Miguel)
• Rizal (Rodriguez)

PAGASA also said the same weather conditions may occur in nearby areas.

Affected residents were advised to take precautionary measures against possible flash floods and landslides. —Mariel Celine Serquiña/KG, GMA Integrated News
