Southwest Monsoon to bring rains over parts of Luzon, Visayas

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) is affecting Luzon and the western section of Visayas on Sunday and will bring rains over several areas, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.

The Ilocos Region, Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the monsoon. Moderate to at times heavy rains may possibly result in flash floods or landslides.

Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Western Visayas, and Negros Island Region may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also due to the Southwest Monsoon. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may occur in areas prone to these hazards.

The rest of the country meanwhile will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may result during severe thunderstorms.

Coastal waters throughout the country will be slight to moderate.
