Habagat to bring cloudy skies, scattered rains over North, Central Luzon

The southwest monsoon or Habagat will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over Northern and Central Luzon on Thursday, PAGASA reported.

The weather bureau is also monitoring a tropical cyclone (Tropical Storm Maria) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), which is located at 2,230 kilometers east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kilometers per hour, gustiness of up to 80 kph, and moving east northeastward at the speed of 15 kph.

Weather conditions

The Ilocos Region, Zambales, and Bataan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with flash floods or landslides occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, and the rest of Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also due to the southwest monsoon with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with the possibility that flash floods or landslides occuring during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for the entire country is light to moderate moving in the southeast to southwest direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
