Southwest Monsoon to bring rains over Visayas, Mindanao
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) is affecting Visayas and Mindanao on Sunday and will bring rains over several areas, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Central Visayas, and Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Habagat. Flash floods or landslides may result due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Eastern Visayas and Mindanao may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms also due to the monsoon. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may result.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon on the other hand will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.
"Dito sa Metro Manila at malaking bahagi ng bansa, asahan pa rin ang thunderstorms sa late afternoon to evening," PAGASA weather specialist Dan Villamil said in an interview on Super Radyo dzBB.
(Here in Metro Manila and the greater part of the country, expect thunderstorms in the late afternoon to evening.)
Coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.
