PAGASA: Habagat, thunderstorms to bring rains all over the country

Rains are expected over the country on Friday due to the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat and localized thunderstorms, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.

In its 24-hour public weather forecast, PAGASA said Habagat is affecting the western sections of Visayas and Mindanao while localized thunderstorms are affecting Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Western Visayas, Negros Island Region, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Palawan may experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms that may lead to flash floods or landslides during moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, are expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms. PAGASA also warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

For wind and coastal water conditions, Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao may experience light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters of up to 1.5 meters, according to PAGASA.

Meanwhile, PAGASA on Thursday said two to three tropical cyclones may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility this August. —Joviland Rita/KBK, GMA Integrated News
