PAGASA monitoring LPA east of Southeastern Mindanao

State weather bureau PAGASA said it continues to monitor the Low Pressure Area (LPA) spotted 900 kilometers east of Southeastern Mindanao, even as the Southwest Monsoon will still bring rains over Luzon and Visayas.

In its 4 p.m. daily weather forecast on Friday afternoon, PAGASA said that while the LPA has a small chance of developing into a tropical storm in the next 24 hours, it is still being tracked as it remains in the Philippine Sea.

The Southwest Monsoon will cause occasional rains over Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales, and Bataan, weather forecaster Chenel Dominguez said.

It will also cause cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Cordillera Administrative Region, Tarlac, and Pampanga, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Mindanao will see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Possible flash floods and landslides may occur due to said weather conditions.

Meanwhile, strong winds with moderate to rough waters may be felt over the northern and western sections of Luzon.

The rest of the country will have moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough waters.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:38 a.m. on Saturday. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/LDF, GMA Integrated News
