LPA to bring cloudy skies, rains over Visayas, Bicol, Caraga, Marinduque, Romblon

The Low Pressure Area (LPA) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the Visayas, Bicol Region, Caraga, Marinduque, and Romblon on Thursday, PAGASA reported.

Flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to heavy rains.

The weather bureau reported that at 3 a.m. on Wednesday, the LPA was estimated to be within the vicinity of Catbalogan City, Samar.

Meanwhile, the southwest monsoon or Habagat will be affecting the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Bulacan, Laguna, Rizal, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila, Bataan, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Northern Mindanao, and the rest of CALABARZON and MIMAROPA will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with flash floods or landslides occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with the possibility of flash floods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Visayas, Mindanao, and Palawan is light to moderate moving in the south to southwest direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the east to southeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
