“At 8:00 AM today (15 July 2024), the cloud cluster east of Mindanao has developed into a Low Pressure Area (LPA) and was estimated at 485 km East of Davao City (7.6°N, 130.0°E),” PAGASA said in a Facebook post.444
Meanwhile, PAGASA earlier said the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat continues to affect the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. It will bring clouds and rain showers over several areas.
Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the Habagat are expected over Mindanao, Western Visayas, Palawan, and Occidental Mindoro.
Moderate to heavy rains may possibly lead to flash floods or landslides, PAGASA warned.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms may be experienced in Metro Manila, the rest of MIMAROPA, Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, and Bataan.
Flash floods or landslides may possibly occur during severe thunderstorms, PAGASA also said.
