Southwest Monsoon continues to bring rains over parts of PH

The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat will be the dominant weather system in the country in the next 24 hours.

According to PAGASA’s daily weather forecast on Saturday, the Southwest Monsoon will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Mindanao, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Palawan, and Occidental Mindoro, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila, the rest of MIMAROPA, Batangas, Cavite, and Laguna.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms caused by localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods and landslides are possible during moderate-to-heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough waters may be experienced over the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The rest of the Philippines will have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 5:34 a.m. on Sunday. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
