Southwest Monsoon, thunderstorms to bring rains over parts of PH


Two weather systems will affect the country in the next 24 hours.

According to PAGASA’s daily weather forecast on Friday afternoon, the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat will cause cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Mindanao, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, and Romblon, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila, the rest of MIMAROPA, Batangas, Cavite, and Laguna.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides may occur.

Meanwhile, the western sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will experience moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.
