Thunderstorm warning up over 8 Luzon provinces

Eight provinces in Luzon may experience moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds Monday afternoon, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 10:29 a.m., PAGASA said the affected areas are:  

• Laguna,
• Bataan,
• Zambales,
• Batangas,
• Cavite,
• Bulacan,
• Pampanga, and
• Rizal.

It added Panukulan and Burdeos in Quezon province are experiencing moderate to heavy rains with lightning and strong winds and it may persist within two hours and affect nearby areas.

Affected residents are advised to take precautionary measures against flash floods and landslides.

Earlier in the day, PAGASA said eastern sections of Luzon and Visayas will have rain showers on Monday due to the easterlies.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
