Thunderstorm advisory raised over Metro Manila, 5 provinces
Metro Manila and five provinces may experience moderate to heavy rain, the state weather bureau PAGASA said Friday.
In a thunderstorm advisory issued at 5:06 p.m., the downpour, along with lightning and strong winds, is expected over the capital region, Bulacan, Pampanga, Laguna, Rizal, and Batangas in the next two hours.
Meanwhile, moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds are being experienced in Tarlac (La Paz), Zambales (San Marcelino, Castillejos, San Antonio, Olongapo, Subic), Cavite (Silang), Quezon Province (Tagkawayan, Buenavista, Guinayangan), Nueva Ecija (Carranglan), and Bataan (Dinalupihan), and may persist within two hours and affect nearby areas.
Residents in these areas were warned against possible flash floods and landslides.
Rain will be more frequent in the days to come as the country moves into the wet season, PAGASA earlier said.
The state weather bureau added that La Niña, which is associated with above-normal rainfall, may develop during the June-July-August season. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/VBL, GMA Integrated News
