Thunderstorms, light rains expected over parts of Luzon —PAGASA

Cloudy skies, rainshowers, light rains, and thunderstorms may be experienced in some parts of Luzon on Friday due to the shear line, Amihan, and easterlies, state weather bureau PAGASA said.

In its weather forecast, PAGASA said Aurora, Quezon, and Camarines Norte may have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the shear line affecting eastern Southern Luzon.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country are expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods and landslides are also possible during severe thunderstorms, according to PAGASA.

Batanes and Cagayan may experience cloudy skies with light rains, while Ilocos, Cordillera, and the rest of Central Luzon and Cagayan regions may have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to Amihan over Northern and Central Luzon.

For wind and coastal water conditions, PAGASA said the northern and eastern sections of the country may encounter moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters of up to 2.8 meters.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country is expected to have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters of up to 2.5 meters.

The highest expected heat index on Friday may be experienced in Dumangas, Iloilo; Baybay, Leyte; and Cotabato City at 40 degrees Celsius, Unang Balita reported citing PAGASA. —Joviland Rita/ VAL, GMA Integrated News
