PAGASA: Cold weather to continue due to Amihan

The cold weather will continue to prevail over a large swath of Luzon due to the effects of the northeast monsoon (Amihan), weather bureau PAGASA said Monday.

“Asahan pa rin natin ang malamig na panahon sa malaking bahagi ng Luzon…epekto po ‘yan nang malakas na Amihan,” said weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio.

(We should expect the cold weather to continue due to Amihan.)

“Sa Visayas at Mindanao, asahan ang maalinsangan panahon,” he said.

(Warm weather may prevail over Visayas and Mindanao.)

In its 24-hour public forecast, PAGASA said Amihan may bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and Quezon while partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms may prevail in Davao Region, Surigao del Sur, Surigao del Norte, and Dinagat Islands due to the easterlies and the trough of a low-pressure area.

Meanwhile, the easterlies  and localized thunderstorms may bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the rest of the country.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough waters may prevail over the seaboards of Northern Luzon and the eastern section of the country.

The rest of the country may experience light to moderate winds and moderate to rough waters.

The sun will set at 6:01 p.m.—RF, GMA Integrated News
