Amihan, Easterlies to bring scattered rains over PH

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will affect Northern and Central Luzon while the Easterlies will bring scattered rains over the rest of the country, PAGASA said Sunday.

Based on the 4 p.m. weather forecast, Eastern Samar, Samar, and Northern Samar will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the Easterlies.

PAGASA warned of possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

In Cagayan Valley, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon, cloudy skies with light rains may prevail due to the Amihan but no significant impact is expected.

In Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon, the weather conditions will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains, due to the Northeast Monsoon.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Easterlies. Possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms is expected.

Wind speed

The wind over Northern Luzon will be moderate to strong, moving northeast while the coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have light to moderate wind speed moving northeast and slight to moderate coastal waters.

The sun will set today at 6:03 p.m. and rise again by 6:16 a.m. on Monday.—RF, GMA Integrated News
