Trough of LPA to bring scattered rains over Mindanao, parts of the Visayas
The northeast monsoon (amihan) will be affecting Luzon while the trough of the Low Pressure Area (LPA) will affect Mindanao on Friday, PAGASA reported.
Mindanao, Central Visayas, Negros Occidental, and Southern Leyte will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
Aurora, Quezon, and the Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon but with no significant impact.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon also with no significant impact.
The rest of the Visayas though will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the trough of LPA and localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.
The wind speed forecast for the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao is moderate to strong moving in the east to northeast direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the east to northeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
