LPA's trough to bring scattered rains, thunderstorms over parts of Visayas, Mindanao

The Trough of the Low Pressure Area (LPA) will bring cloudy skies with scattered rains over parts of the Visayas and Mindanao while the northeast monsoon (amihan) will affect a part of Luzon on Thursday, PAGASA reported.

Caraga, Davao Region, and SOCCSKSARGEN will have cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms due to the Trough of LPA with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring due to heavy to at times intense rains.

Central Visayas, Southern Leyte, and the rest of Mindanao will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms also due to the trough of LPA with the possibility that flash floods or landslides occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Aurora, Quezon, and the Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon but with no significant impact.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon but also with no significant impact.

The rest of Visayas will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the trough of LPA and localized thunderstorms with flash floods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao is moderate to strong moving in the northeast to north direction with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving in the east to northeast direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.
