Amihan, trough of LPA affect PH

The Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) and the trough of a low pressure area will bring cloudy skies with rains to various parts of the country, PAGASA said in its 24-hour weather forecast issued on Wednesday afternoon.

The trough of the LPA will cause cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rains and thunderstorms over Caraga, Davao Region, and Soccsksargen, and cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Central Visayas, Southern Leyte, and the rest of Mindanao.

The Northeast Monsoon will bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, Bicol Region, and the rest of Eastern Visayas, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Flooding or landslides may occur in areas affected by the LPA's trough.

Meanwhile, the eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao are forecast to experience strong winds with rough seas, while the rest of the country will face moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:25 a.m. on Thursday. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
