Shear line, Amihan to bring rain to parts of Luzon, Visayas

A shear line is affecting the eastern sections of southern Luzon and Visayas, while the rest of Luzon experiences the continued effects of the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan.

The Bicol Region, southern Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, Marinduque, Aklan, Capiz, and Eastern Visayas may experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms caused by the shear line.

The Northeast Monsoon will cause cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, and the rest of Quezon; cloudy skies with light rains over the Cordillera Administrative Region; and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

The rest of the country is forecast to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

Possible flooding and landslides may occur as a result of said weather conditions.

Meanwhile, northern Luzon and the eastern sections of central and southern Luzon and the Visayas will have strong winds with rough coastal waters while the rest of the country will be having moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:25 a.m. on Friday. — Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/BM, GMA Integrated News
