Shear line, Amihan bring cloudy skies, some rain over Luzon

A shear line is affecting the eastern section of southern Luzon, while the rest of Luzon experiences the effects of the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan.

According to PAGASA’s daily weather forecast at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, the shear line will cause cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Quezon, Oriental Mindoro, Romblon, and Marinduque.

The Northeast Monsoon will bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley and Aurora, cloudy skies with light rains over Cordillera Administrative Region, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms may be felt in Visayas and Mindanao because of localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, northern Luzon and the eastern sections of central and southern Luzon and Visayas may have strong winds with rough coastal waters, while the rest of the country may expect moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters.

Sunrise in Metro Manila will be at 6:25 a.m. on Thursday. — Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/BM, GMA Integrated News
