Shear line, Amihan to bring cloudy skies over Northern Luzon
The shear line and Northeast Monsoon affect Northern Luzon, PAGASA said on Thursday afternoon.
Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Aurora, northern portion of Quezon, and Kalayaan Islands may experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms because of the combined effects of the shear line and the trough of a low pressure area.
The Northeast Monsoon may cause cloudy skies with rains over the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over the Ilocos Region.
The rest of the country may experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms because of the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.
Floods and landslides may occur as a result of these weather conditions.
Meanwhile, Northern Luzon and the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon may face strong winds with rough coastal waters, while the rest of Luzon, and the eastern sections of Visayas and Mindanao will have moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters.
The rest of the country is forecast to have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.
The sun will rise at 6:16 a.m. on Friday. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
