LPA, shear line to bring cloudy skies, rains over parts of PH

The low pressure area and the shear line will affect parts of the country, PAGASA said Tuesday afternoon.

Mindanao, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Aurora, Masbate, Biliran, Leyte, and Southern Leyte will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms because of the shear line and the trough of the LPA, which was located 265 kilometers west southwest of Zamboanga City at 3 p.m.

The Northeast Monsoon may cause cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley and the Cordillera Administrative Region, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will be experienced in the rest of the country.

On Tuesday, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported one missing following the impact of tropical cyclone Kabayan, which has since weakened into an LPA.

A total of 86,321 individuals or 25,489 families were affected by the cyclone in Northern Mindanao, Davao, and Caraga, while 67,105 persons or 19,601 families were staying in evacuation centers.

Damage to infrastructure worth P200,000 was reported in Caraga.

Meanwhile, strong winds with rough coastal waters are forecast for Extreme Northern Luzon, while moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters will be experienced over Visayas, the rest of Luzon, and the eastern section of Mindanao.

The rest of Mindanao will have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.

The sun will rise over Metro Manila at 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday. — Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
