1 missing in Davao Region amid Kabayan, shear line — NDRRMC


One person was reported missing in Davao Region amid the combined effects of Tropical Cyclone Kabayan and a shear line, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said Tuesday.

"Meron namang nabalitaang namatay ngunit hindi pa confirm. Hindi pa nakita 'yung body so hindi pa ma-confirm," Office of Civil Defense 11 director Ednar Dayanghirang told Super Radyo dzBB. '

(We have a reported fatality, but it has not been confirmed yet because we have yet to find the body.)

In its latest report, the NDRRMC said that one person was reported injured in Northern Mindanao.

A total of 86,321 people or 25,489 families were affected by inclement weather in Northern Mindanao, Davao, and Caraga.

Of the affected population, 67,105 persons or 19,601 families were staying inside 390 evacuation centers, while 15,598 individuals or 4,891 families were taking shelter in other places.

A total of 53 houses were reported damaged.

Flooding incidents were reported in seven areas, according to the NDRRMC. Five road sections and a bridge were not passable.

The power supply in six of the 11 affected areas in Caraga has been restored. The operations resumed in five of nine affected seaports in Northern Mindanao, Davao, and Caraga.

A total of 636 passengers, 157 rolling cargoes, and nine vessels were stranded.

Damage to infrastructure worth P200,000 was reported in Caraga.

Due to the threat of bad weather, 83 classes and 57 work schedules have been suspended. Assistance worth P92,676 has been provided to the victims so far, according to the NDRRMC. — VDV, GMA Integrated News
