Amihan to bring clouds, rains to Northern, Central Luzon
Cloudy skies with rains are expected to in Apayao, Batanes, and Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands as the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan affects Northern and Central Luzon.
According to PAGASA's 24-hour public weather forecast issued at 4 p.m. on Friday, the Amihan is also expected to cause partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in the Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Cagayan Valley.
The easterlies and localized thunderstorms are expected to bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
Luzon will be having moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough waters, while the rest of the country is forecast to have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.
The sun will rise at 6:05 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Shear line impact
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Friday that 1,157,487 individuals or 285,690 families that have been affected by rains caused by the shear line and the low pressure area.
According to its report on Friday, the NDRRMC said over 287 houses were damaged, 227 only partially damaged and 45 totally damaged, while 76,970 people have been displaced and moved into 172 evacuation centers.
Meanwhile, the cost of damage to the agricultural sector has now risen to P120,367,684.43.
A total of 161 road sections and 10 bridge sections have been damaged, while 2 airports and 8 seaports have been affected.
State of calamity was declared in 47 different cities and municipalities, with 60 reporting affected access to power, 1 with affected water supply and 4 with affected communication lines.
Assistances distributed has now tallied up to P68,867,903.36, majority of which has been provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development. —NB, GMA Integrated News
