Cloudy skies, rains to prevail across PH

The shear line continues to affect the eastern section of Southern Luzon, while the easterlies prevail in Visayas and Mindanao, PAGASA said Friday afternoon.

According to PAGASA’s daily weather forecast, the shear line and easterlies will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Aurora, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, and Caraga.

The Northeast Monsoon will cause cloudy skies with light rains in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan, including the Babuyan Islands, Isabela, and Quirino, and partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains in the Ilocos Region and the rest of Cagayan Valley.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are forecast for Metro Manila and the rest of the country due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms.

Flash floods and landslides may occur in areas affected by the shear line, easterlies, and localized thunderstorms.

Luzon will experience moderate to rough winds with moderate to rough coastal waters, while Visayas and Mindanao are forecast to have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.

The sun will rise over Metro Manila at 6:02 a.m. on Saturday. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
