Shear line, amihan to bring rains over parts of Luzon

The shear line will be affecting Southern Luzon while the northeast monsoon (amihan) will affect the rest of Luzon on Thursday, PAGASA reported.

Palawan, Quezon and the Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line. Flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, and Apayao will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon with no significant impact.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon with no significant impact.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast in Luzon is moderate to strong moving northeastward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the east to northeast direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Sunrise will be at 6:01 a.m., sunset at 5:24 p.m. — BAP, GMA Integrated News
