Shear line, Amihan continue to bring cloudy skies over parts of Luzon

The shear line continues its effects on southern Luzon while the Northeast Monsoon is still affecting several parts of northern and central Luzon, PAGASA’s said Wednesday.

According to the state weather bureau, Metro Manila, Calabarzon, the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon are forecast to have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line, or tail-end of a frontal system.

Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, and Aurora will experience cloudy skies with light rains, while Ilocos Region, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan.

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms will be felt over the rest of the country as a result of the shear line and localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Luzon, Visayas, and the eastern section of Mindanao will experience moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough waters, while the rest of Mindanao will experience light to moderate winds with slight to moderate waters.

The sun will rise at 5:57 a.m. on Thursday morning. — Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/BM, GMA Integrated News
