Amihan, shear line to bring rains over parts of Luzon

The shear line will be affecting Southern Luzon while the northeast monsoon (amihan) will be affecting Northern and Central Luzon on Wednesday, PAGASA reported.

Metro Manila, Bicol Region, CALABARZON, Isabela, Quirino, Aurora, Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Samar will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line. Flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Apayao, Kalinga, Ifugao, Mountain Province, and the rest of Cagayan Valley will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon with the possibility that flash floods or landslides occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Ilocos Region, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the northeast monsoon but with no significant impact.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the shear line and localized thunderstorms with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon and the eastern section of Visayas is moderate to strong and moving northeastward with moderate to rough coastal waters.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to north direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
