Easterlies, Amihan to bring scattered rains over parts of PH

The easterlies will affect Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao while the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) will affect extreme Northern Luzon on Wednesday, PAGASA reported.

Visayas, Mindanao, Mimaropa, Bicol Region, Mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the easterlies and shear line. Flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with rains due to the Northeast Monsoon with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Ilocos Norte and Apayao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains also due to the Northeast Monsoon but with no significant impact.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the easterlies and localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may possibly occur.

The northern and eastern sections of Luzon will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving in the northeast to east direction with moderate to rough coastal waters.

Eastern Visayas and the northeastern portion of Mindanao will experience moderate wind speed moving eastward with moderate coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon and Visayas will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to east direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The wind speed for the rest of Mindanao will be light to moderate moving in the southeast to northeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
