Amihan, shear line to bring rains in some areas on Undas 2023

People visiting cemeteries on All Saints’ Day should bring their umbrellas as the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan) and shear line will be bringing cloudy skies with rains over several parts of the country.

Based on PAGASA’s latest weather forecast, a low pressure area (LPA) was detected over the coastal waters of Caramoran, Catanduanes as of 3 a.m. on Wednesday.

PAGASA said Metro Manila, mainland Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Bulacan, Calabarzon, Marinduque, and Camarines Norte may expect cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the LPA and shear line.

The Cordillera Administrative Region, Nueva Ecija, and the rest of Cagayan Valley may experience cloudy skies with rains because of the Amihan, it added.

The weather bureau said the Northeast Monsoon will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Ilocos Region and the rest of Central Luzon.

The Visayas, Mindanao, the rest of Mimaropa, and the rest of the Bicol Region can anticipate partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms, it added.

Meanwhile, coastal waters will be moderate to rough (1.2 to 3.1 meters) in Luzon, and slight to moderate (0.6 to 2.1 meters) in Visayas and Mindanao.

Wind speed in Luzon will likewise be moderate to strong heading northeast, while that of the rest of the country will be light to moderate directing east to northeast.
