Amihan, shear line to bring scattered rains over Luzon, Visayas

Amihan, shear line to bring scattered rains over Luzon, Visayas

The shear line will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers over the eastern sections of Southern Luzon and Visayas while the Northeast Monsoon or Amihan will be affecting Northern and Central Luzon on Tuesday, PAGASA said.

The weather bureau, meanwhile, also reported that monitoring activities showed that at 3 a.m., a Low Pressure Area (LPA) was observed at 470 kilometers east of Virac, Catanduanes.

Visayas, Bicol Region, Mimaropa, Quezon, and Aurora will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line and trough of the LPA. Flash floods or landslides may possibly occur in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Batanes, Cagayan, and Isabela will have cloudy skies with light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon but with no significant impact.

Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and the rest of Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains due to the Northeast Monsoon with no significant impact.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may possibly occur during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon is moderate to strong moving northeastward while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southeast to northeast with slight to moderate coastal waters.
