PAGASA monitors LPA off Eastern Visayas

The trough of a low pressure area located off Eastern Visayas will bring rains to parts of the country, the state weather bureau PAGASA said on Wednesday.

The LPA was seen 840 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas at 3 p.m.

Meanwhile, Super Typhoon Bolaven, which remains outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility, was spotted 2,280 kilometers east of Northern Luzon, with maximum sustained winds of 195 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 240 km/h.

The Bicol Region, Mimaropa, Quezon, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough of LPA.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms because of the trough of LPA and localized thunderstorms.

Flooding or landslides may occur as a result of the weather conditions.

Northern Luzon will have moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.

Light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters will prevail throughout the rest of the country. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
