Habagat, localized thunderstorms to bring rains over parts of the country

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring cloudy skies and rains over the  western section of Northern and Central Luzon on Saturday, PAGASA reported.

Meanwhile, the weather bureau continues to monitor the active tropical cyclones outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

As of 3 a.m., Typhoon Koinu (formerly Jenny) is located 640 kilometers west of Itbayat, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 155 kilometers per hour, gustiness of up to 190 kph, and moving west southwestward at the speed of 10 kph.

The second cyclone, a tropical depression, is located 3,100 km east of the Visayas, packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kph, gustiness of up to 55 kph, and moving northwestward at 20 kph.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the monsoon and localized thunderstorms. Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms.

Northern and Central Luzon and the western section of Southern Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to southeast direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to northwest direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
