Two LPAs, Habagat to bring scattered rains over parts of the country
Two low pressure areas (LPAs) and the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring scattered rain showers over parts of the country on Saturday, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
One LPA was estimated to be located at 85 kilometers northeast of Infanta, Quezon at 3 a.m.
The other LPA was estimated to be located at 125 kilometers west of Iba, Zambales.
Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat will be affecting Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon, Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the LPA and the monsoon. PAGASA said flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
The rest of Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the monsoon and localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may possibly result.
The western section of Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to southeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
The rest of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will experience light to moderate winds moving southwestward while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.
The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate winds moving from the east to northeast direction and slight to moderate coastal waters.
Sunrise will be at 5:45 a.m., sunset at 5:52 p.m. — BAP/KG, GMA Integrated News
