Habagat to bring rains over South Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao

The Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated at 405 kilometers north northeast of Itbayat, Batanes. However, it is the southwest monsoon or habagat that will continue to bring cloudy skies and rain showers over Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, PAGASA reported.

Zambales, Bataan, Palawan, Occidental Mindoro, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, and Caraga will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon with flash floods or landslides possibly occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon and localized thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon and Visayas is light to moderate moving in the southwest to southeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

Mindanao residents will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the south to southwest direction with slight to moderate coastal waters.
