PAGASA monitoring LPA near Batanes


PAGASA is monitoring a low pressure area (LPA) located 490 kilometers east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes, while the Southwest Monsoon continues to affect Southern Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

The state weather bureau forecast cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms in Bicol, Aurora, and Quezon due to the trough of LPA.

Metro Manila, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, SOCCSKSARGEN, MIMAROPA, the rest of CALABARZON and Central Luzon, La Union, Pangasinan, and Benguet will be experiencing cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon and localized thunderstorms.

Possible flash floods or landslides may occur due to the weather conditions.

Meanwhile, Northern Luzon will be experiencing light to moderate winds blowing southwest to northwest with slight to moderate coastal waters, while the rest of the country is predicted to have light to moderate winds blowing southwest to west with slight to moderate coastal waters.
