PAGASA monitoring LPA east of Batanes

The Southwest Monsoon continues to affect areas in southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao as PAGASA continues to monitor a low-pressure area 705 km east-northeast of Basco, Batanes or 710 km east of Itbayat, Batanes as of 3 p.m. Tuesday.

In its 4 p.m. update, the state weather bureau said that the trough of LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Cagayan Valley, the Bicol Region, Quezon, Aurora, and Northern Samar.

The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, meanwhile, will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to Metro Manila, MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Zambales, Bataan, and the rest of CALABARZON.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Habagat and isolated thunderstorms.

The sun will set at 6 p.m. and will rise at 5:45 a.m. on Wednesday. — Jiselle Anne C. Casucian/BM, GMA Integrated News
