LPA trough, Habagat, localized thunderstorms to bring rain showers over parts of PH
The trough or extension of a low pressure area, Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, and localized thunderstorms will bring rain showers over parts of the country on Monday, PAGASA said.
Batanes and Babuyan Islands will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough of the LPA. Flash floods or landslides may result due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
At 3 a.m., the LPA was estimated to be located at 875 km east northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon.
"Mababa ang tsansa na maging bagyo," Anjo Pertierra of GMA Integrated News Weather Center reported on Unang Balita.
(The LPA has a low chance of intensifying and developing into a tropical depression.)
Meanwhile, the Southwest Monsoon is affecting Mindanao.
The Zamboanga Peninsula will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the monsoon. Moderate to at times heavy rains may possibly lead to flash floods or landslides.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country may expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the monsoon and localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may possibly result.
Coastal waters will be slight to moderate throughout the country.
