Habagat, localized thunderstorms to affect country

The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will continue to affect Luzon, according to PAGASA’s daily weather forecast on Wednesday.

The Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Apayao, Zambales, and Bataan are forecast to have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to Habagat, while Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon and localized thunderstorms.

Flooding or landslides are possible due to the weather systems.

Meanwhile, the northern and western sections of Luzon will experience strong winds and rough coastal waters.

Moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough coastal waters are forecast for the rest of Luzon, while Visayas and Mindanao will have light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.

The sun will rise over Metro Manila at 5:44 a.m. on Thursday.  — Jiselle Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
