Habagat to bring occasional rain over Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan

The Southwest Monsoon or Habagat will be bringing cloudy skies and rain over parts of Luzon on Friday, PAGASA reported.

Pangasinan, Zambales, and Bataan will have occasional rains due to the Southwest Monsoon. The weather bureau adds that flooding or landslides in these area may occur due to moderate to heavy rains.

The Cordillera Administrative Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Occidental Mindoro, and the rest of Ilocos Region and Central Luzon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms also due to the Southwest Monsoon with the possibility of flash floods or landslides occurring due to moderate to at times heavy rains, PAGASA said.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the Southwest Monsoon and localized thunderstorms with flash floods or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.

The wind speed forecast for Luzon is strong and moving southwestward with rough coastal waters, the weather bureau said.

It added that the Visayas will have moderate to strong wind speed moving southwestward with moderate to rough coastal waters.

Meanwhile, Mindanao will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the south to southwest direction while coastal waters will be light to moderate.

PAGASA is also monitoring an active tropical cyclone located outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
