LPA, ITCZ to bring rain over parts of Visayas, Mindanao

A low pressure area (LPA) and Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao will bring rains over parts of Visayas and Mindanao on Wednesday, PAGASA said in its forecast.

The LPA was estimated to be located at 3 a.m. at 710 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It is embedded along the ITCZ, PAGASA reported.

Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Bohol, Camiguin, Misamis Oriental, Davao de Oro, and Davao Oriental will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the LPA and ITCZ. Flash floods or landslides may occur in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ and localized thunderstorms with the possibility of isolated floodings or landslides occurring during severe thunderstorms.

The western sections of Luzon will experience moderate to strong wind speed moving in the southwest to southeast direction while coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

The rest of Luzon will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northeast to southeast direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

The rest of the country will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the southwest to northwest direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.

Sunrise will be at 5:36 a.m., sunset at 6:29 p.m. — BAP/KG, GMA Integrated News
