LPA off Catanduanes won't develop into storm –PAGASA
The low-pressure area (LPA) developing off Catanduanes was not expected to develop into a tropical cyclone, state weather bureau PAGASA said Monday.
PAGASA Weather Specialist Aldczar Aurelio said the LPA was last seen 325 kilometers east of Virac town at 3 p.m. It was embedded along the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) which was currently affecting Southern Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
Cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms were forecast over the Visayas, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon, while Metro Manila and the rest of the country were expected to have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.
Rain-induced flash floods and landslides may occur in these areas, PAGASA warned.
Forecast wind conditions in the country would be light to moderate and would be accompanied by slight to moderate waters.
Temperatures peaked at 31.3°C at 1 p.m. while the lowest was 25.3°C at 5:20 a.m.
