Shear line, Amihan to bring rain over north, Central Luzon areas
The shear line will continue to bring rain and thunderstorms to eastern Luzon while the northeast monsoon or Amihan will affect northern and Central Luzon, PAGASA said Saturday.
In its 4 p.m. weather forecast, the state weather bureau said Quezon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms brought about by the shear line, with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.
The Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, and Aurora will have cloudy skies with rains due to the northeast monsoon with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to, at times, heavy rains.
The Ilocos Region, the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region, and Central Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains due to the northeast monsoon with no significant impact.
Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms with possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.
The wind speed forecast for Luzon is moderate to strong from the northeast to east, while coastal waters will be moderate to rough (2.1 to 4.0 meters).
The Visayas and Mindanao will experience light to moderate winds from the northeast as coastal waters remain slight to moderate (0.6 to 2.5 meters). — DVM, GMA Integrated News
