Shear line, Northeast Monsoon to bring rains over parts of the country
The shear line affecting Visayas and the Northeast Monsoon affecting Luzon will cause rain showers over several areas on Sunday, PAGASA said in its weather forecast.
Eastern Visayas, Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Camiguin, and Southern Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered to widespread rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line. Rains may be heavy to torrential at times and may lead to flooding or landslides.
The rest of Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, the rest of Northern Mindanao, and the rest of Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms also due to the shear line. Flash floods or landslides may possibly result due to moderate to heavy rains.
Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region will have cloudy skies with rains, while Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains, both due to the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan). Moderate to heavy rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region may cause flash floods or landslides.
Meanwhile, in Mindanao, partly cloudy to cloudy skies will prevail, with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may possibly result.
Coastal waters will be moderate to rough over the seaboards of Luzon, Visayas, and the eastern section of Mindanao, and slight to moderate in the rest of Mindanao.
