LPA to bring scattered rains over NCR, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol, Visayas

A low pressure area (LPA) located east of Sorsogon and the shear line affecting Northern Luzon will bring scattered rain showers over parts of the country on Saturday, PAGASA said in its weather advisory.

At 3 a.m., the LPA was estimated at 215 kilometers east of Juban, Sorsogon.

The National Capital Region, Central Luzon, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, and Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms brought about by the LPA with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line with possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the shear line and localized thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may possibly occur.

The wind speed in Luzon will be moderate to strong moving in the north to northwest direction, and coastal waters will be rough.

Visayas will experience light to moderate wind speed moving in the northwest to west direction while coastal waters will be slight to moderate.

In Mindanao, wind speed will be light to moderate moving in the west to southwest direction while coastal waters will remain slight to moderate.
