Queenie downgrades to remnant low, to bring rains over Caraga, Davao Oriental
Tropical Storm Queenie further weakened into a remnant low after downgrading into a low-pressure area (LPA), weather bureau PAGASA said Tuesday.
Based on its 5 p.m. bulletin, the weather bureau said the remnant low is expected to continue moving generally northwestward and may dissipate in the next 12 hours.
It is forecast to bring light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Caraga and Davao Oriental. However, it is unlikely to have a direct effect on the country’s coastal conditions.
The weather disturbance was last seen 420 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, PAGASA said.
Meanwhile, the trough of Severe Tropical Storm Paeng will bring rains across parts of the country.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may prevail over the provinces of Bataan, Pangasinan, and Zambales due to the trough of Paeng which exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Monday.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country are forecast to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the localized thunderstorms.
PAGASA warned the public against the possible flash floods or landslides in the affected areas due to the rains.
Forecast wind in Luzon will be moderate to strong with moderate to rough coastal waters. Meanwhile, light to moderate winds will blow over the rest of the country with slight to moderate coastal waters.
