Paeng crosses Cavite; heavy rain expected over NCR, Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Mimaropa
Severe Tropical Storm Paeng maintained its strength while traversing the northern portion of Cavite on its way to crossing the southern portion of Bataan.
According to PAGASA's 8 p.m. bulletin, Paeng was spotted in the vicinity of General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite (14.3°N,121.0°E), moving northwest at 20 km/h. It had maximum sustained winds of 95 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 115 km/h.
Heavy to intense torrential rains were expected over Metro Manila, Bataan, Zambales, CALABARZON, Marinduque, Mindoro Provinces, and the northern portion of Palawan, including Calamian and Cuyo Islands.
Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains were likely over Camarines Provinces, Isabela, Aurora, the rest of MIMAROPA, Ilocos Region, and Cordillera Administrative Region.
Light to moderate with, at times heavy rains were also possible over the rest of Luzon and Visayas.
On Sunday, moderate to heavy with, at times intense rains were likely over Zambales, Bataan, and Ilocos Region.
Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, Mimaropa, the rest of Calabarzon, and the rest of Central Luzon would experience light to moderate with, at times, heavy rains.
