Signal No. 2 over Metro Manila, Bicol provinces, parts of Luzon, Visayas
Heavy to intense with, at times, torrential rains are likely over the Bicol region, Western Visayas, Quezon, including Pollilo Islands, Marinduque, Romblon, Samar, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Occidental Mindoro, and Oriental Mindoro.
According to PAGASA’s 11 p.m tropical cyclone bulletin, the center of Tropical Storm Paeng was estimated at the coastal waters of Rapu-Rapu, Albay, moving west-northwestward at 25 kph.
It has maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center, gustiness of up to 105 kph, and a central pressure of 990 hPa. Strong to gale-force winds extend outwards up to 590 kms from the center.
Moderate to heavy with at times intense rains likely over Metro Manila, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Aurora, Bulacan, Palawan including Calamian and Cuyo Islands, Northern Samar, Negros Oriental, Cebu, and the rest of CALABARZON and Eastern Visayas. Light to moderate with, at times, heavy rains possible over Nueva Ecija, Pampanga, Bataan, and the rest of Visayas.

As per the forecast track, Paeng may make landfall in the vicinity of the Albay-Camarines Sur area or Catanduanes on Friday night or Saturday early morning.
PAGASA said Paeng might intensify into a severe tropical storm before its landfall over the Bicol.
Frictional effects associated with interaction with the Luzon landmass may weaken into a tropical storm during or after its passage over Luzon. —NB, GMA News
